I Saw Goofy Looking JWs Going To The Donut Shop Today
by minimus ini'm sure they were witnesses although i only saw a bookbag.
all 4 men were dressed in dress coats and suits and ties.
as they emerged from the car they all had this goofy look on their faces like they were so happy to be going to the donut/ coffee shop.. so stupid looking..

Been there, done that - but remained a Christian lol!
He struggled with all the things I struggled with - where the OT fits into ANE culture, religion etc. It really is an eye-opener to the uninitiated - indeed it is frightening.
From reading the account, I think the difference between him and me is that I was prepared to shift/accomodate the 'new' information - whereas he admits to being very conservative and unable to cope with a Bible which now appeared to be no longer 'inerrant' as well as other liberal doctrines.
I guess it depends on how much one depends on the written pages to support your beliefs. If you have a shaky foundation, you're bound to run into trouble eventually.

For me, spirituality is becoming fully who I am meant to be (the journey of a lifetime!), being aware of who I am (self-esteem development?) and where and how I fit into creation/existence (develpment of relationships - to others and the universe I inhabit).
Personally, I would term this in relation to the God in whom I believe, but I do also see that it can relate in more general terms to those of other faiths or none.
